Past and Future Meetings

Thank you to all of our members, presenters, and supporters who turn out for the meetings every month.

Our February meeting was a success and resulted in a subcommittee being formed to facilitate local rules for parenting coordinators. Dr. Poppleton and Dr. Dudley who are pictured here were our presenters and did a fantastic job.

The next meeting is on March 10 and we have Phil Margolin scheduled to speak about his interesting writing career, his system for writing a novel, and sources for some of his ideas. Mr. Margolin is a former trial attorney who since 1996 has been writing full-time. All of his novels have been New York Times bestsellers.

The monthly meetings are every second Thursday of the month. We have social time from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and then a presentation from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The meetings are typically held at Tommy O’s in downtown Vancouver and cost $13.00 for lunch. If you are a member of the CCBA and FLS the CLE credit costs $5.00. For nonmembers, the CLE credit costs $10.00.

On April 14 Joshua Foreman, a prominent attorney from King County, will speak to the group about his specialty of the law and his theory for how to win a custody case.

The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers is hosting its 17th annual family law conference on Friday, March 18 at the WA State Convention Center in Seattle and the WSBA Family Law Section Midyear will be held from June 17-19 at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane. Topics for both look timely and advanced. Please contact me for specifics.

If you would like to attend a CCBA FLS meeting and do not currently receive the email updates, please email me at Elizabeth@elizabethchristy.com.
